Podsumowanie

Niepokojącym jest fakt, że większość napaści seksualnych oraz gwałtów - jak wykazują badania - są częściej dokonywane przez osoby znane, np. takie, z którymi się chodzi lub umawia na randki, lub osoby przelotnie znane oraz współmałżonków. Należy liczyć się z faktem, że mężczyźni nie chcą przyznawać się do bycia ofiarą agresji seksualnej kobiet, ponieważ uderza to w ich poczucie męskości i świadczy o słabości i bezbronności. Skutki agresji seksualnej kobiet są wręcz tragiczne, jeśli ofiarami stają się nieletni.

Polskie statystyki przestępczości naświetlają jedynie zgłoszone przypadki, poważnie obniżając prawdziwą stopę wiktymizacji przez kobiety, a tym samym skalę problemu. Ponadto system prawny nie jest tak rozbudowany jak na przykład w Stanach Zjednoczonych, a obywatele o wiele rzadziej zgłaszają do wymiaru sprawiedliwości tego typu formę przemocy.
